It’s my first Friday Favorite in 2016, and this year is off to a great start! For those of you who don’t follow us on Instagram, I’m engaged! After 5 wonderful years with my (now) fiancé, we’re finally adulting and taking that next step. So far, this year has been all about wedding planning, which I’m thoroughly enjoying. In fact, it’s making me want to be an event planner! Maybe I should add a new section to the blog? “Weddings 101?” I just may… I’m learning so much and getting a lot done, so I should probably share the knowledge.
In other news, I’ve been playing with some amazing products lately. Here are my top 5 so far. Enjoy and happy Friday!
1. My Engagement Ring
Well, I have to start with my new engagement ring! #BasicBitch, and I don’t care- I’m obsessed with my cushion cut diamond and the delicate pavé diamond band. Let’s be real here: men never listen, so I was totally surprised and delighted that Phil picked out such a beautiful piece. It’s more beautiful and perfect than anything I could have picked for myself.
2. Your Beauty Mark
I was so excited to receive Dita Von Teese’s new book in the mail- and how amazing that it came with a bottle of champs? Oh, Dita, you just get me. The book is more than just beauty tips from the walking pin-up girl- it’s a self-help bible on self-discovery, self-expression, and ultimately self-worth. Unlike many make-up and hair guides, Von Teese encourages women to discover and enhance what makes you feel special and beautiful inside and out. Available at Amazon.com.
3. Pretty Lips
After years of bold lip colors- magenta, burgundy, and the likes- it’s fun to see girly, neutral shades making a comeback. Don’t get me wrong- I still can’t get enough of those show-stopping colors, but it’s nice to see pinky-neutral shades back in the mix. My new favorites? Nars’ “Audacious Lipsticks” Brigitte and Raquel, which are named after Hollywood “It” Girls of yesteryear. Available at Sephora.com.
4. Rebecca Minkoff Spring Collection
With NYFW around the corner, designers are unveiling their new spring collections. On a recent preview at Rebecca Minkoff, I fell IN LOVE with these delicate envelope “Leo” clutches. Pictured here in the Pantone “Colors of the Year,” they also come in your more traditional black, red, and yellow. For the bold and the beautiful- check out the iridescent and sparkly variety.
