Look Good at the Gym

One of the many reasons I love working out is because the gym is the one place where you can just zone out and not care about what you look like- but that being said, I always like to accessorize and have fun with what I’m wearing. I’m one of those people who looks like they’ve completed a triathlon after running a mile on the treadmill, so I’ve come up with a few tricks to appear somewhat presentable while working out. Here are my favorite tricks!

1. Sweatband

A nylon sweatband placed on the hairline is a perfect way stay dry while at the gym. It’s perfect for those who workout before work, so your hair stays dry. Also, if you have sensitive skin like me, a sweatband really helps keep your face clean which will help prevent breakouts.

2. Nylon Tanks

Like nylon sweatbands, nylon tank tops or nylon t-shirts help you stay dry while at the gym, opposed to cotton shirts.

3. Waterproof Mascara

I don’t see the point of wearing makeup at the gym, but I always like to have mascara on wherever I go. Waterproof mascara is perfect for the gym since you don’t have to worry about it smudging or smearing while working out.

4. Tinted Chapstick

Tinted chapstick is also great for the gym. It’s simple, natural, and just adds a bit of color while at the gym.

5. Capris

Fitted nylon capri pants are essential for working out. Unlike shorts, you’re able to be active and not worry about them moving around.

6. Nikes

For months I would suffer from shin splints after running only a short distance, and it wasn’t until I found my favorite running shoes did it stop happening. I started wearing nike running shoes and I haven’t had a shin splint since, even after running several miles. Not only are they comfortable, but they have many different colors and fun laces.

7. Face Cleansing Towelettes

For those of you who go to the gym before work, Cleansing Face Towlettes are perfect for after working out.

8. Dry Shampoo

Dry Shampoo is also essential after working out if you’re headed straight to work afterwards. Just a small amount will leave your hair looking fresh and voluminous.

9. Elastic Hair-ties 

Elastic Hair-Ties are great because they leave no crease in your hair. Also, if you have tick hair, they won’t stretch out like normal hair-ties.

10. !Pod/!Phone ArmBand

For those of you who like to listen to music while working out, !Pod or !Phone Armbands are amazing for the gym. They also can add a pop of color to your outfit.
