Cynthia Gale has been designing jewelry for twenty years as a leading sterling silver jewelry designer. In 1991, while on a modeling trip to the Indonesian island of Bali, Cynthia was inspired by the fine craft of the many silversmiths she encountered and the diverse culture of this magical paradise to launch her first collection GeoArt by Cynthia Gale. A cultured entrepreneur and trend setting designer from the start, her jewelry collections over the past twenty years have combined both her New York City fast paced urban eclectic lifestyle with her enduring love of the serene and tranquil beauty of the Far East with it’s exquisite hand crafted artisanal sterling silver objet d’arts.Today, as she enters her third decade in business, she is forging ahead and rebranding her original company GeoArt by Cynthia Gale into simply… Cynthia Gale. Whether Cynthia is creatively inspired by an ancient Greek rhyton in designing one of her unique GeoSignature Collections, working with her many museum and foundation partners in developing the GeoMuseum Collections, or continuing to design her trend and contemporary inspired GeoArt Collections, Cynthia strives to design and produce timeless pieces of jewelry that can be cherished and worn for many years to come. For Cynthia, jewelry is a personal expression of individual art with each piece reflecting a heritage culture, time honored history, or a spiritual journey message.
“ When a woman wears a piece of my jewelry, I want her to feel as exhilarated as I feel whether walking through the bustling city streets or watching an exquisite sunrise over a tranquil Indonesian rice paddy field. ” ~ CG
Here are the top 10 picks from both Jess and Victoria…
My style is current and trendy, with a bohemian influence. I really admire jewelry that is unique and edgy, and I love jewelry with text on it, so the Love/Hope/Faith Sterling Silver Spin Ring and the Secret Garden Sterling Silver Quote Ring are right up my alley.
90’s inspired looks are one of my favorite current trends, so I love the Imagine Peace Rose Sterling Silver Black Cord Necklace and the All The World’s a Stage Sterling Oxnyx Necklace. The grungey, choker-esque qualities of these pieces look like they came straight out of a scene from “Empire Records.”
I love nature inspired jewelry, like the Grasset Rose Sterling Silver And Pink Pearl Braclet, the Tree of Life Sterling Silver Bronze Medallion Necklace and matching Tree of Life Sterling Silver Bronze Hoop Earrings and the Borobudur Lotus Sterling Silver Bronze Cuff.
I also tend to lean towards more of a bohemian inspired jewelry, which is very popular on the West Coast. So I love the Filigree Hamsa Sterling Silver White Pearl Necklace as well as the Dharmachakra Blue Topaz Samsara Earring.
My style is minimal and classic, with a hint of rock ‘n roll and a dash of bohemia. Like Victoria- I instantly gravitated towards the Dharmachakra Blue Topaz Samsara Earrings and the matching Dharmachakra Sterling Meditation Lariat. While they speak of a relaxed bohemian spirit to Victoria, to me they are full-on Daisy Buchanan! I also love the layered pearls in the Artknots Madame Butterfly Necklace, which are also reminiscent of Coco Chanel in the Roaring 20s.
For every-day jewelry, I’m loving Cynthia Gale’s bronze and sterling silver pieces. The Borobudur Lotus Temple Sterling Bronze Necklace would look gorgeous over any top- weekend wear, business, or evening attire. I’m obsessed with layering bangles (as many of them as you can fit!) so the Elements Fire Bronze Sterling Silver Bangle is also on my top picks list. Cynthia’s bangles are perfect for mixing and matching different styles, textures, and materials. Drool-worthy!
As daughters of two British Baby-boomers, Victoria and I grew up listening the “British Invasion” bands of the 1960s. (Sometimes against our will!) This instilled a fascination with the British rock ‘n roll and fashion scene. What I love most about it, is the juxtaposition between a classic, preppy piece (take Burberry’s Nova Check for instance) and a hard, grungy edge (Like Alexander McQueen’s affinity for skulls.) Both the Skull and Crossed Bones Sterling Necklace and the Imagine Peace Rose Etched Sterling Silver Cuff are reminiscent of this style, and I can’t get enough.
