October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. If you’ve been noticing the surplus of pink throughout the world and scratched your head with curiosity, now you know why.
Every year, I walk for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer to raise money for research. I walk for my boyfriend Phil’s grandmother Eleanor Cipallaro, and my mother Lesley Feakins- both of which are breast cancer survivors. The experience of coping with breast cancer- whether it’s you or a loved one who has been diagnosed- can be undeniably traumatic and stressful. I believe that no one should have to go through this.
We support research for not only a cure, but methods of prevention.
Almost everyone has been touched by breast cancer in some way, and I want to make a difference by walking and raising money in my local American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. It takes place in Central Park on October 21st (Phil’s birthday!) and starts at 9am.
- As of today, October 12, 2012, we’ve reached almost 50% of our goal with $953. But we still need $1050 to reach our goal. If you’re interested in supporting our team, please donate or register to walk with us here: Big City Little Fundraiser.
No donation is too small and every donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your support!
***Update: Big City, Little Fundraiser was able to rake in a grand total of $1,542. Thank you to all those who donated, supported the cause, and/or joined us this morning in Central Park. Until next year ! ***
