First of all… Happy New Years!! I’d like to wish you all a healthy, happy, and prosperous 2013. 2012 was great, and there’s no where to go but up!
Last night, the man-friend and I threw our very own New Years Eve party in our little apartment. It was a blast! We invited about 20 of our closet friends for hors d’oeuvres, cinnamon apple sangria, champagne and more. I consider myself very lucky to be able to spend the night with such wonderful people. And everyone seemed to have a great time, which meant a lot to me as well. Anyway, enough with the mushy-gushy reminiscing. Let’s talk hair, makeup, and fashion.
Typically for NYE, I would cover myself in sequins. This year, I kept the dress pretty basic and let the jewels and shoes do the talking. I choose a dark green skater dress from TopShop, which was both comfortable and figure-flattering. The shape of the dress is perfect for you ladies with an hour glass figure: it hugs your waist and skims over hips and thighs. It’s perfect for a party with
fattening delicious goodies to snack on throughout the evening. I threw on some gorgeous BCBG t-strap stilettos that I bought at 50% off, my new Goshwara earrings (thanks, Phil) and plenty of gold bracelets and bangles stacked on both wrists.
As for hair, I went with my signature curls. To get the look, wash and dry your hair as normal, wrap 2″ sections around a hot iron, and let it set in plastic rollers while you finish your makeup. As for products, I always use Frizz-Ease detangler and a small puff of TRESemmé styling mousse. After I pull out the rollers, I finish with TRESemmé fine mist hair spray.
I kept my make-up classically sexy with smokey eyes, peachy cheeks, and a nude gloss.
