Winter Wedding

A few months ago, I was invited to the boyfriend’s cousin’s wedding in Connecticut, and it seems to have snuck up on me. Suddenly it’s the day before the wedding, and I must come up with something to wear! Ah, the anxiety…

I dug deep into my closet and pulled out a gothic, lacy number from Tracy Reese. I purchased it years ago from Anthropologie, and have only worn it once:

For her last appearance, Tracy was accompanied by my old House of Harlow necklace (RIP, beloved jewels) blue satin peep-toe pumps and a red Rebecca Minkoff purse. It was late summer/early fall and color-popping seemed appropriate.

For a winter wedding, however, I find it better suited to sport classic, simple jewelry. I went with a beautiful white gold and amethyst pendant from Goshwara, silver Hermes bracelets, and an Ariella cocktail ring. Shoes and clutch remained basic black.

What to Wear: Connecticut Wedding
I always think it’s best to stay classic and timeless for a wedding, so I kept my hair and make up quite simple. I used my at home gel nail polish kit from Sephora to give myself a simple french manicure.

For make-up, I was inspired by the always lovely Emma Stone, and you can get the look at ImABeautyGeek.com: hot pink lips, winged liner, and a set of false lashes. I used Maybeline Gel Liner (available at drug stores) and Makeup Forever Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick in N35 Iridescent Orange Pink.

Hair was blown out into loose, bouncy curls. Here’s the final look!
